To introduce us to this time period we will be watching the first part in the BBC production: "People's Century". This first part is called "Age of Hope". This documentary will give us an insight to many of the events listed below as well as the impact of electricity, newspapers, unionism, nationalism, the women's movement, combustion engines, better medicine, colonialism, demise of autocracy, rise of marxism, immigration, advertising, flight, push for self rule amongst colonies, unionism amongst other things.
